Hello, chrononauts!

We had a productive meeting last Thursday.

First of all, welcome to Trisha! Wei-Hwa somehow wrangled his girlfriend into joining our evil cabal! Bwahahaha!

LOCATIONS

We kicked off the meeting by reviewing the candidate locations identified to date. We brainstormed a few more, including

  • Joe Freund's garage in the Haight
  • Clocksmith--the clock repair shop in San Carlos
  • Ferry Plaza clock tower
  • San Francisco Chronicle Clock Tower
  • Ghiradelli Square Clock Tower

PUZZLES IN PROGRESS

We then reviewed the list of all puzzles we were aware of that are being worked on (see list on wiki). Then we matched them up as best as we could to the slots for puzzles in the plotline. It appears that over a third of the slots already have works in progress. Woo hoo!

Dwight also brought up his concept for a puzzle based on the old "choose your own adventure path" books. Wei-Hwa upped his "nerd cred" by recalling the exact title and author of the very first such book. Erik topped him by pulling out from his storage a box with a near complete collection of all the books in the series, including the first.

Note that the first book was called "The Caves Of Time"--how appropriate for our game! Perhaps we should call our homage, "The Caverns Of Time."

In any case, we agreed that this puzzle would probably fit in very well as the first password puzzle--the one found in Doctor When's childhood bedroom.

We also discussed Dave's "background chatter" puzzle concept and agreed that it would probably be a great lead in to the locker combo puzzle of Part 2.

PLAYTESTING

We playtested Dwight's Part 1 core dump puzzle "Toggle."

Great work everybody!

Next meeting is on Thursday, August 26.
