Plot Setup

With the players' help, Prof. Chronus has repaired and re-calibrated the time machine. This time the remote viewfinder works well, so he simply instructs Prof. Chronus to send him to the pre-determined coordinates so he may complete his mission. The players watch him stick the letter into the locker, as he planned all along.

Props

Short movie of Doctor When delivering the letter.

Plot Point to Convey

The players must enter the time machine themselves to tamper with the letter.

Short Description

Players use the time machine to go back to 1986.

Detailed Description

Before entering the time machine, players must perform a ritual dictated by lab staff. (When and Chronos did all that before the presentation started, off course.) Their final act before stepping into the machine is to swear allegiance by saying, with gestures, "We'll do it -- for science!"

Puzzle Solution

This is opportunity for simple improvisational play, like when a magician or juggler invites an audience member on stage and tells them exactly what to do. It's a tension breaker and sets up the audience for other Act III activities which are not strictly puzzles.

Other Notes

Prof. Chronos notes the time/date and says something like "That's odd, that's when we were both in high school. Wonder what he's up to. Oh well!" ... and pushes the button to send Doctor When there.
