Allen, Erik, Melissa, Sean, Trisha, and Wei-Hwa met on 2/24. We were joined by actor and puzzler Dan Kurtz who is considering joining the team.


LOCATIONS--PUTTING DEPOSIT ON REC CENTER

Erik and Melissa confirmed that the rec center is willing to put in writing that our deposit is fully refundable. So Erik will proceed with the deposit whenever he sees fit.


RECRUITING

Allen reported that the only responses to our recent posting on the BayBang list were three puzzle testers.


EVENT REQUIREMENTS SPECIFICATIONS

The experienced puzzle authors present (Sean, Trisha, Wei-Hwa) confirmed that Wei-Hwa's revisions to the wiki make the format of the event descriptions sufficiently robust to allow authors to understand the requirements of projects...thus helping them make informed decisions about which to sign up to create.

Sean will fill in a few more fields for the events in Act 1 while Erik will fill in the same for the events of Act 2. We'll hold off on Act 3's events till we resolve a few remaining issues in Act 3's plot.


SCRIPT TABLE READ

Allen, Erik, and Trisha presented a draft script that emulates the intended flow of the game--sort of like what one would see in a movie version of our Game. The script won't be used in the actual game, but is intended to to communicate a shared vision within GC and be a tool for resolving the remaining plot issues.

We read the script out loud. The good news is that even new-guy Dan understood the gist of the action, and that we all got some good laughs out of it.

We all had a lot of major and minor notes. Everyone will let their responses "ferment" over the week and we'll discuss in-depth at the next meeting. Wei-Hwa will also do some minor copy editing over the next week. After we resolve a few more issues at next week's meeting we'll give everyone on our team access to it.


PLAYTESTING

We play tested a few puzzles that Wei-Hwa wrote for the upcoming Equinox party. The puzzles give a sneak preview of our Game (and combine the themes of the upcoming party).


TO DO

  • Erik to put down deposit on rec center when he sees fit...but will get refund terms in writing
  • Allen will follow up with Dan to see his impressions and interests now that he knows more about our Game
  • Erik & Sean to add a few more details to the wiki's description of Act 1 & 2 events
  • Wei-Hwa to do some minor copy editing of the script
  • Wei-Hwa to revise his Equinox puzzles as he sees fit
