Candidate location for the science fair set.
Old school gym with four full basketball courts, (drained) olympic-size swimming pool, and miscellaneous other spaces.
Comments: When the Navy moved out, among the buildings they left was this old-school gym. It is currently still in operation, under the management of the city of Alameda. They definitely rent it out for special events, but I do not yet know how much they would charge.
They may very well have some chairs and tables we can rent. Parking is plentiful.
I don't know whether the geographic location would work well for us. It's isolated on the abandoned Naval Air Station. However, it's not far from downtown Alameda. And it's very close to the Officers' Club.
They even have some old lockers lying unused in a back storage area.
I was given a tour by Rochel. She confirmed that they do rent it out, but she's not the agent. I will make contact next week.
